Introduction to Exporting: Are you and Your Company Ready?

Duration: ½ day

Description: This workshop will help you understand the requirements of a successful exporting business and will examine both your business, and your own readiness for export. It will also introduce key resources available through the ExportNB portal, including the components of a custom export plan.

Duration: 1 day (or 2 x 1/2 day)

Facilitator: Richard Thériault

Description: A crucial first step before becoming an exporter is to undertake a detailed examination of your company’s current finances and other internal processes such as sales, marketing and production. This course will help you understand how your business will be impacted by market expansion and guide you towards successfully entering and sustaining new market penetration.


Determining Your Market: Develop a Marketing Plan (2 part workshop)

Duration: 2 x ½ days

Facilitator: Janice Goguen

Description: Over two ½-day sessions, participants will examine key components that are required to successfully expand into a new market. With supportive coaching, the result will be an action plan that will guide companies’ assessment of the following elements of exporting:

  • Best Market Options for Your Product/Service
  • Market Overview and Strategy
  • Regulatory and Logistical Issues
  • SWOT analysis of organizational and external issues
  • Implementation plan
  • Financial plan

Calculating Your In-Market Product Price (Online)

Duration: 2 hours

Description: Using a proven method of on-line learning, participants will be guided through an easy process of step-by-step calculations to determine their true in-market product cost.

*The link to the course will be provided to you in advance but you do the course on your own time, when it is convenient for you (Ideally before the next class).


Develop Effective Export Marketing & Sales Strategies

Duration: 1 day (or 2 x 1/2 day)

Facilitator: Pierre Babineau & Richard Thériault

Description: This workshop will assist the learner in determining the best marketing strategies for their product or service. This will include:

  • How to develop sales channels
  • Get the most of your trade show selection and company presence
  • Developing an effective marketing plan using traditional and web-based tools
  • Management of marketing activities, including web analytics

One-on-One Coaching

A total of 6 hours of one-on-one coaching with a subject matter expert will be provided to the participant to finilize their strategy. The date and time are to be determined between the participant and the expert.
